it's been so long i've almost forgotten how to blog...

JUST KIDDING. but really it's been FOREVER again, i know i know.

i hope most of you haven't forgotten about me.

this is the LAST week with the puppies... HOORAH! then they go their new homes,

well besides one... he's still available if anyone is interested ;)

i've been having lots of trouble getting inspired lately. i've done a few things, but not like i was. i hope to get my mojo back after puppies are gone and i can just take care of 3 kids (yes, i included my husband in that) insteand of 9. that takes a lot out of you!

anyways, on to my project. you remember my book wreath here.

i could never figure out where i wanted to put it. i hung it in my bedroom (which is not decorated AT ALL, i mean we don't even have a matching comforter set but SOON!) but the walls are tan and it blended in. so i knew i had to move it.

so i finally came up with this wall above my couch. it's been blank and so have i... UNTIL now =)

so what do you think?? YEP i L.O.V.E. it!!!

i've been stashing frames and finally got to spray paint them. i've been wanting to do this forever, because IT'S AWESOME, and finally got hubs to hang stuff (that's like pulling teeth for him) BUT we got it done, and other stuff (stay tuned, more posts i PROMISE!) but it was easy so easy!! i would do it again in a second (might very soon, i am the WORST at rearranging things, haha, poor hubs).

down memory lane...

this is a project caitie and i did last summer.

pre-paxton!!

we had fun doing it and it's something i'll keep forever.

i need wall coverage in her room, we'd never done any hand/foot prints so i thought "exactly what we're going to do!"

we bought two 2 packs of small canvas, 50% off of course!
picked out pretty paints and got to work!

we painted the canvas and then took her feet put them on two and then the other two canvas we used her hands. we wrote the date on the back and then hubs put hangers on them and up they went.

so simple yet so meaningful!!

when she outgrows them, they will be mine!!

so sad, she starts PRE-K in less than a week.

flower mirror redo part II...

so i was looking through my craft closet {yes i only get a closet} =(

for crafts/projects i can do without stepping foot outside when i came

across this mirror! i had completely forgotten about it!!

i first posted about it here.

it didn't turn out the way i'd hoped. the paint cracked and i wasn't sure.

so after i'd rediscovered it i thought i was going to mod podge it with some cute paper...

i couldn't decided which paper to use so i decided to polka dot it since it was going in caitie's room.

so i took a spray paint can lid and traced circles all over the mirror.

then i got to painting...

i wish i could paint as well as i traced the circles... then it would be perfect,

but that wouldn't be right.

here's the polka dots drying... not too badly messy. =)

then i decided to use poly on it.

first time ever. it sure made the black pop after it had dried!

i WILL use it again!

i haven't decided on a permanent place in caitie's room,

so i hung it up just so i could get a feel...

not even close to being perfect but caitie & i are A-okay with that!!

more birds {i think i'm in love!}...

so did i ever mention how i loove birds, and well bird houses? well i do!

they are SUPER cute, small, cuddly, and they eat worms. {not a reason why i love them, ha}

but i keep finding more of them, and of course more ideas!!

so do you remember this bird from here?

that white paint helped so much, but it was still bland.

plus i have TONS of upper cabinet space that needs some lovin' so i wanted more for the little fellow,
plus if it wasn't perfect i was just going on top of the cabinets where no one could admire it from up close. =)

so i started out here:

i did some experimenting with that pot so it wasn't in the best of shape, but like i said, top of the cabinets. so i decided to paint the pot yellow.

so i painted, it turned out like POO...

urg, i hate when the vision in my head isn't the vision that comes out. so i decided to use black to cover it up.

some of the yellow showed and it was okay with me.

it turned out like this:

so i was pleased... not perfect by any means but just RIGHT for me!!

do things always turn out as you've planned them?? i find those few and in between!! but not everything can be perfect... just life. we must love it as it is!!!

the summer blues...

hello everyone!!!

hope you didn't forget about me... the hard puppy days {aka late night puppy feedings} are ALMOST over, i can ~~sleep~~ function again!

i have so many projects i need to get done...

hello, my name is brandi, and i am an addict!

i love to think up, buy, and then NOT finish my projects. anyone else as bad as me?!

my kitchen still is NOT painted. but hey, i work a full time job and are taking care of 9 kids {and yes i included my hubs in that, haha} i think i'm doing pretty good to remember to brush my teeth {only kidding}!

but all in serious-ness {is that a word?} anyone else live in the south?

it has been HOT! i mean H-O-T all week long.

OVER THE 100s!!!

which means i run from my car to my front door, i don't like to sweat! hot days = no spray painting = no projects!!

thursday we got rain... HOORAY! after it stopped i realized it cooled off, so i got something ready to paint, only to walk outside and it was raining again. POO!

i went out tonight and it was cool enough to paint.. YIPEE!! so off i went on some projects, plus i had ME time!! <--- that does NOT happen often! dishes were done, laundry done, puppies fed... so i got to work. be sure to follow up on what i started AND what i finished. i seriously think that not finishing projects should be my new years resolution!!

here are some pictures of my past puppy filled week!! they are SO cute and they all have new homes except 2!!

wow!! it's been a LOOONG time since i've had a post.

wanna know why??

....

YEP!! we have lola puppies {english bulldog}!!!

very exciting... and we have SIX!!

that is a lot of puppies...

so puppies mean every TWO hour feedings,

making sure they eat enough, they are warm enough, they go potty, and everything else!!

it's VERY stressful, but fun of course!!!

i'm trying to talk hubs into keep one... lola needs a buddy!!

caitie wants to hold them, pax, well he cares less. =)

so i've been very exhausted... but there will be MORE posts I PROMISE!!

so don't forget about me!!

silverware wall decor...

silverware picture...

{i cannot remember where i seen it first, so if you know... PLEASE tell me so i can give the proper credit to them!}

ANYWAYS, redoing kitchen, or at least i think i am, by bits and pieces, oh what a mess. i need some new wall decor... cheap wall decor is even better. i seen this picture around and knew it would be cheap, easy, and beautiful to redo.

so i started out with:

of course you remember my thriftin' goodies.

on THIS project i used:

1. picture frame $1 at salvation army

2. 1 knife, 1 fork, 1 spoon .75 at salvation army

3. a piece of lace from a curtain .25 at salvation army

4. spray paint {had on hand}

5. glue gun & sticks {had on hand}

TOTAL = $2.00

so to start i took the frame apart, kept the cardboard and i'll save the glass for another project then i spray painted it with:

{i'm a big fan of black, can you tell?}

then it looked like this:

then i took the lace and wrapped it around the cardboard and hot glued it down. then i put the cardboard back in the frame

AND it looked like THIS:

{i looove this lace, don't be surprised if you see it in another post, cause i got LOTS left!}

then i glued the knife, fork, and spoon to the front,

THAT looked like:

{yep you guessed, i already love it!}

then i had a dilemma... i couldn't decide how to hang it up, with ribbon or lace. so after much deliberation between my co-worker and i {yes, at work again, but only half of it, and we have been REALLY slow} we decided on lace. so then i glue it to the back of the frame like this:

and hung it up. after that it looked like this:

for some reason i didn't like the way the lace hung so i played with it a little.

much better!!!

i took it home at lunch and hung it on my half way painted kitchen walls.

{pretend it's all painted and you see no red, k?}

so what is the verdict??

was it worth $2??

is 9 MONTHS today!!

that means, in 3 months, he'll be ONE...

he is 3/4 of a YEAR old.
did you get that, my BABY will be ONE... my last baby {knock on wood, we're done, haha} ever baby will be one.

where does the time go?

he's went from a 7lb 3oz sweet little prince to a

21lb rotten little boy... and i'm not kidding =)

he is such a momma's boy and he's never

slept a day in his crib!!

BUT that's A. okay with me.

my first wreath...

so today's post is about my very FIRST wreath EVER!!

can you believe it, i've never made one.

kinda makes me sad when i think about it because i LOOOOVE the way this one turned out!

{i LOOOVE a lot}

AND with every post i'm getting more confident in myself... in the crafts i do which will make me more brave to try the bigger projects that i have in mind. =)

this wreath i first seen over at living with lindsay.

her wreath is beautiful, inspiring.

so of course i had to ~~copy~~ recreate it. =)

i started with:

{minus: glue gun, pen, ribbon, and pins}

i then tore out all the pages of the book that didn't have pictures. my co worker {yes, i did this while at work... shhh.. it was a very slow day} couldn't believe i was tearing apart a book. i wish i couldn't gotten a picture of her face for you guys!!

i took the pen and stuck it in the middle of the page and sorta wrapped the page around it. when it looked pretty i put a dab of hot glue on the end and stabbed the foam wreath. it's ~~good~~ great therapy! =)

and that looked like this:

my co worker kept saying... "oh yeah, that's different, really different"

i just smiled, i knew it was going to be beautiful!!

{this is before it was full}

i kept doing that... i think it took about 3 hours total... but HEY, i had the time. =) when i started on the insides and sides it was taking too long to hold the paper on and letting the glue dry and i got a ~~couple~~ lot of wounds {all worth it of course} so i got out sewing pins and stuck them in. held up and hurt a lot less!!

At this time she was saying "wow, that really is cool and beautiful" again i just smiled, i ~~didn't~~ did want to say "i told you so" =)

{i put the ribbon on the back with pins... super easy!}

{this is on the wall at work... still looks fabulous!}

i took it home at lunch... i ~~wanted~~ had to know what it would look like next to my walls. i didn't hang it up though, my 3rd shift hubs was sleeping, i don't think he'd be too happy, me waking him up. =)

break down of costs:

1 foam wreath $7.99 {hobby lobby, didn't have a coupon}

1 book .25 cents {salvation army}

1 inch of ribbon $0 {had on hand}

glue & glue gun $0 {also on hand}

TOTAL = $8.24

under 10 bucks, can't be that for this awesomeness!! =)

so happy wednesday everyone!!

my vacation is over and back to work for me.

i looove my job so i was A. okay with it, it was sad to leave my pax man again.

we were nap buddies... did i ever mention how much i LOOOOVE naps? well if not, now you know! =)

ANYWHO on with my post.

so you remember these goodies from here?!? well minus the paint. =)

i paid $1 for the glass dome and $2 for the bottom!!!

plus $2.67 a piece for the spray paint... i was out =/

total=$8.34... under $10 i can live with that!

anyways. so i gave it a good cleaning.

sanded the bottom

{i am SO bad at taking pictures, i usually get SO excited. =) you know how it goes}

i primed it with white

then when it dried, i whipped out the yellow

{which is part of the scheme to my new kitchen, in the works =) }

when it dried i put in some spanish moss,

put a little birdy in...

ANNND VOILA... here she is!!!

so i bought this beastly thing for $2/$3

{yes i seen past all that beastly-ness}

i sanded it some {i'm not a big sander so the less sanding the better}

and then i took it outside to spray paint it black.

after i was done spray painting it, it looked like this:

i had my paper picked out and i got out my mod podge.

this is the biggest surface area that i have mod podged.

it was a challenge, harder than i thought it would be.

yes it is glorious!! it will be my center of my kitchen table...

although it does need some friends other than the salt & pepper.

rainy vacation = no projects...

so i've been on vacation for the past couple days, yay!!

but...

the weather here has been awful!

nothing but rain! i haven't been able to paint or get any projects done that i'd planned to do.

it finally held off for awhile and i got started on...

makes me oh so happy!! =) and i'm actually doing it,

instead of making hubs do it. man it's some hard work. that's okay i need the exercise!!

oh, and my mother in law got a new camera so i got her handme down (can't beat free!) and it's wonderful! so much better than my pink polaroid. i told the hubs he could have that one, he wasn't too keen on that. ha!

a bird gets a house...

so i was looking around hobby lobby

{i <3 hobby lobby, i could live there, well almost}

and found these cute bird houses unfinished... half off... so around 1.50.

{i thought it was cuuuute!}

so then i took outside, gave it a good coat of black spray paint.

i let the dry and brought it in.

i had found some cute swirly paper from HL and decided to add that to the house.

{i loooove the paper! sorry it's sorta blurry, i need a new camera!}

i mod podged them onto the roof and let it dry...

AND then it turned out like this:

{i added the white dots because it seemed really dark}

i was going to put it outside but it's too cute, sorry birdies!!

kitchen makeover part I...

so i decided i was finally tired of my bright red/cow kitchen.

this is epic! i've had a cow kitchen as long as i've had a kitchen. :)

long time now.

so i've been thinking/dreaming of grey, yellow, black, and white.

completely different than what i have!! i ~~think~~ hope it will turn out awesome.

so the first thing i did was take down all of my pictures... {boy did i have a LOT of pictures!}

i covered the holes with putty and started sanding them.

next i wiped down the walls.

then i brought out the paint and gathered my supplies...

what did i forget??? paint pans!!! i have NONE. so painting has been rescheduled for tomorrow. haha, go figured. i'm ready to paint and i don't have the supplies. =)

let me show you some pictures of my kitchen:

1. notice the ugly ~~light~~ lights.

2. i hate the chair rail.

3. i need new blinds.

1. more of that awful light.

2. did you notice the brass doorknob? yep that's my whole house!

1. the garage door will be a different color.

some other things i want to do to this room are:

1. new floors!!!

3. different countertops.

4. white cabinets {trying to talk hubs into that one!}

5. shelves for my pantry.

6. paint for my pantry & laundry room.

7. an island.

OF COURSE, ALL IN GOOD TIME. =)

4th of july blocks...

so with the 4th of july right around the corner i thought i would do something festive. i headed to hobby lobby and came home with all this:

1. "u" "s" & "a" blocks... .72 cents a piece

2. wooden stars... .99 cents for the pack of 5

3. 2 cordinating paper... .29 cents a piece

4. red & blue paint... .66 cents a piece

AND i had the mod podge, white & yellow paint, and brushes on hand.

TOTAL: $5.05 {not bad at all!}

so first off i painted the whole blocks

i had a wonderful helper, she wouldn't allow any pictures though. haha

secondly i decided what paper went where and then traced my letters. then i cut them out and made sure they lined up.

{forgot to take a picture of that step, sorry}

thirdly, {is that a word?} i mod podged' the crap out of 'em.

yep, i slathered it on waaay too much. oh well. =)

i had to wait patiently for them to dry.

in the mean time i a star yellow

{no picture of this either, bad bad brandi!}

then when they were both dry, i got some wire from my cute hubs and twirled it around a pencil to make it look like a pigs tail, {pretend that there are pictures... k?}

then i hot glued the star to the wire and then the wire to the block,

AND it turned out like this...

what do you think?

yeah, they are awesome aren't they?

not bad for a little over FIVE dollars!!

YES, you read it correct. i got my FIRST blog award...

i'm very very excited!!

i received it from Amanda at the hand me down house.

if you haven't checked out her blog, you should, she is super sweet

and has ~~great~~ AWESOME projects that you seriously should check her out ASAP!so with the award i have to tell you 7 random things about me,

so here they are:

1.my husband and i did everything backwards {not on purpose though}, we had caitie, went on our honeymoon, bought a house, and then finally got married. backwards seemed to work for us.

2.i am a flip flop girl. i would wear them everyday if i could get away with it at work, even in the snow.

3.i absolutely love my job, most parts anyways.

4.i love peanut butter, anyway anyhow.

5.i am addicted to my ipod touch and secretly wishes it was an iphone, darn verizon!

6.my son paxton wasn't named until he was 5 hours old, {boys names are hard!!}.

7.i grew up in a town with a population of 17,000 and now my kids are growing up in town with less than 1700. i couldn't love it anymore!

so the weekend is gone...

so how was everyone's weekend??

we had a good weekend for 3 reasons...

1. no work for me on saturday... yay!!!

2. we finally had a yardsale and made lots of $$

3. i got to take a long nap... oh how i L.O.V.E. naps!!

well reason #1 is the best... no work on saturday doesn't come very often.

#2 was exciting because it was our first yardsale since we've lived in our house... 4 years of junk. sadly we didn't get rid of all of it... but we made lots of money! my husband and i decided to split it down the middle... i'm pondering what i will buy. i'm thinking a criket!

and #3 well just because i have an 8 month old who has yet to sleep through the night... so well all the extra sleep is LOVED!

so tomorrow is monday, back to work, and i'll have some posts.

i've been a bad blogger, but i know you all understand.

we had a good thriftin' day.

anyways, i got this vase for $1.50!!

i seen so much potential in it, had to have it, got it.

so i took it outta my stash and got to work...

goodbye dora, hello polka dots...

so of course my daughter loved dora, so what did we change her nursery over to? dora, of course... did you get my past tense... LOVED?? yes we are so over dora, so we are redoing the room again, a big big girl room. =) no more dora! hoorah!!

so we start with this dora night light.

{i appologize again for bad photos, remember i craft after bedtime}

i didn't want to get rid of it because it worked perfectly. it was just that ugly cover {no offense dora, we've just had enough of you!}

so i got to thinking... what would be the easiest way to make the night light awesome again??

MOD PODGE... my newly found love of course!!

so we whipped out the mod podge, our choice of paper, scissors, pencil, and sponge brush.

and this is how it turned out...

it was such an EASY project!! i would do it again in a million years. can you tell what theme we decided to go with? stay tuned to see how her room redo goes! it's still very much a work in progress though.

maycee belle is here...

is finally here!!

maycee belle made her arrival at 5:06 pm.

she weighed 6 lbs and 13 oz and was 20 3/4 long.

so i've been a little MIA. i've been sick. strep. ick.
yep, missed THREE days of work. i barely missed that when i had pax. {okay so i kid} but seriously i'm going stir crazy. i have the boy home today so that should keep me busy... he's crawling... dum dum dum. he's doing good, not getting into too many things. i already have the cabinets locked from caitie {those are a must} so he can't get into that. i have caught him chewing on magazines and trying to play the wii. =)

i finally took pictures of all my goodies from saturday and i wanted to share.

{minus a few things, my daughter likes junk as much as i do. go figure. ha}

the salvation army had their books on sale so i got three hard backs for .25 a piece. i also found a brand new bag of spanish moss for .50, i was super excited for that. i got a long piece of lace that looked like a table runner but figured i'd do something pretty with that. i also got a pair of shoes and a couple of toys for pax. all under.... $25!!! what a cheap day for shopping!!

i cannot wait to start on these projects when i feel better!!

how was everyone's weekend?

i had a wonderful weekend, well besides work. ick. nah,

it isn't all that bad. =)

besides working, i went thrftin'!!

i'm so glad caitie enjoys it as much i do!! we got some awesome

stuff but no pictures ready, so i'll have to make you all jealous another day ;)

one of the things i did get was this little birdy... for a buck fifty!!

i was very excited, i haven't been able to find a birdy any anywhere.

this is what he looked like when we took him home.

i love to rearrange things always.

my husband is always coming home to things

rearranged... or caitie saying "hey who moved this?"

install a super cute font yet {i ~~think~~ know it's a necessity!}...

caitie's polka dot mod podge letters

so last night after buying my first bottle of mod podge i got to work.

we bought my daughters name in wooden letters four years
ago (yep she's four, i'm old)

they were white and looked beautiful in her nursery.

when we did her big girl room we took them down and

never put them back up.
i am planning a redo on her room

and thought this would be the perfect first project.

these were my supplies:

(minus the scissors and pen)

step 1: clean them.

step 2: figure out what paper you want where.

step 3: trace your letters.

step 4: cut them out. i used scissors, probably

much easier with an exacto knife (which i need to buy).

step 5: cover your letter with mod podge and lay

paper over it smoothing out all bubbles.

step 6: put a layer of mod podge over the letters and let dry.

step 7: repeat step 6 if you wish.

step 8: enjoy them!!!

pax's surgery & mod podge...

so we found out a couple of months ago that my little man is tongue tied,

where his tongue is connected too closely to the tip.

it results in bad feeding, speech impediments, and more.

we switched pediatricians at 6 months and our new one (who is wonderful) discovered it.

poor pax has suffered for a long time, he's almost 8 months and still on newborn nipples, switching formula many times, gas, and not eating more than 5-6 oz in a sitting.

it makes me so angry they didn't find it sooner, but i won't get on my soap box =)

we made an appointment asap to get it clipped. =(

today was the day. i made the hubs go with me and stay with him and of course i'd cuddle after.

it went very well. he screamed for a good while, very hard for a momma to hear.

but so far so good, he's been eating and in a good mood.

so glad!

he keeps clicking his tongue... i guess he's noticed the difference. =)

i took the day off because i wasn't sure how he was going to react (which he ended up doing well) so we decided to take a trip to HOBBY LOBBY. the closest one to us is 30 minutes away so i only go every once in awhile. today while i was there i bought my first bottle of...

i know how exciting, right?

we played around with it and oh how i'm in love!!

so many projects come to mind!!

anyways, i enjoyed my day off.

since i was 18, which seems like forever ago!

i've always loved it but it was ugly. i could never find a pretty one.

so i settled for this.

i hope everyone has been good the past week/weekend/memorial day...

wow, it's been a whole week since i've posted.

just been busy and went on a vacation!! :)

nothing huge, just a weekend away to branson, mo.

pax's very first stay away from home!

it's a measley 3 hours away and luckily we had an awesome car ride,

timed it just right!

caitie was very excited to stay in a "castle"

she wanted to know if we would be back to stay again. =)

we were all so exhausted when we got home we all took long naps.

we rode the ducks,

(caitie got to drive)

(pax just relaxed and enjoyed the ride)

then we visited the dinosaur museum,

(while pax enjoyed it caitie did not. haha love her face!)

and we also went to ripley's believe it or not.

(caitie, pax, and i outside ripley's)

overall it was a nice trip, short and sweet, and much needed!

but i'm back now, so watch for new posts!!

happy hump day!

i just love wednesdays, they make the week go by so fast...
and the best thing about this week?
three day weekend! whoop whoop!!
it's always great when you get a day off, (even better when it's paid!)

i haven't gotten any crafting done... why you might ask??

we are breeding our english bulldog and we have been busy finding her a boyfriend, i know how exciting, right? well it's done and hopefully soon we'll have some pups... caitie is very excited for puppies!

polka dot wall decor...

i wanted to share one of my favorite projects i've ever done. i don't have before and after pictures but it was a very simple, one day project.

(this picture is pre-paxton so excuse the messy-ness)

i made polka dot wall decor out of embroidery hoops. i went to micheal's and bought different sizes of embroidery hoops. i paid maybe $8 for all of them...

then i took regular craft paint .54 cents for the bottle and painted them white. i didn't even think of spray painting them but it probably would've been so much easier!

i picked out fabrics at Hobby Lobby one to match his bedding set, i bought 1 yard of each and had lots of extras. i ironed them and put them through the hoop as if i were going to embroider something. i cut the fabric down in the back and glued down what i could and hung them up randomly.

i loooooved how they turned out! so simple and under $15... probably a lot less if you had coupons and were less impatient than me.

(his bedding... i loved it! especially the polka dots!)

flower mirror redo part I...

so today was exciting, i spray painted for the first time... EVER!! i know i know... i have also never modge podged either... so sad.
BUT back to the spray painting, my sister in law told me about the handle/sprayer and said it was awesome so of course i grabbed one of those, and i have to say it was super easy to put on and use.

so what was the first thing i spray painted...

it was this!! i bought this at a local thrift store and got half off, i was so excited and it was definitely something that would go in my daughter's room.

evidently it has been multiple colors and was this ugly reddish pink color when i got it. i sanded it some and seen green, black, pink, and yellow... should be interesting.

of course the next thing i wanted to do was cover the mirror so i broke out the painter's tape...

let me tell you, i should've picked a square mirror, getting around all those curves was almost impossible...BUT i did it!

(p.s.) do you like my spray painting sheet?? my husband and i's first sheet set together... haha. ick!! at least it'll be getting some good use!

i am still working on a coat or two so come back for part II and i will show you how my first project turned out!!

hello all! yes i am the new kid in town...

i have recently discovered "the blog world" and have fell in love... how could i

not? =)

my project list is long and i have burning desire to redo every room in my house, my husband thinks i'm crazy, but i think surely i can do it... between working, being a mommy, and a wife... hopefully without going crazy.

so maybe i should say a few things about myself.
i am a mother to two, Caitie is 4 and Paxton is 7 months tomorrow... =(

i am a wife to sean, i have 5 nieces, another on the way, and 2 nephews.

i am married to my best friend, who gets me and puts up with me. we have an english bulldog, Lola who is well just Lola. =)

you can find us with family most weekends, others at home.

i enjoy thrift stores, shopping, watching movies, occasional baking, eating (what's not to like), taking pictures of my beautiful babies, my pacifica (aka mommy wagon as sean calls it, i just love it!), target, crafting and making things new, decorating the house (with the exception of curtains, hate those...), gardening, and just all around life.

p.s. i need to figure out how to make my blog pretty... anyone have any tips... i would loove to hear them!
